Walt Disney Studios

Walt Disney Studios opened on March 16 2002 and is themed after a working film studio, with the "lands" being studio lots. It's generally a lot less crowded than the Disneyland Park and offers it's own shows and parades.

Front Lot | Production Courtyard | Backlot | Toon Studio

Front Lot is based on the administration areas of Hollywood movie studios from the "Golden Age" of movies in the 1930s. It serves as the entrance to the park and offers guest services and shopping boutiques. Disney characters can also been seen wandering this area.

Earffel Tower

The focal point of Front Lot is undoubtedly the 33m high water tower topped by Mickey's famous ears. Originally used to fight fires, such towers became the symbol of a Hollywood film studio. This one was modelled on the water tower erected near the entrance to the Disney studios in Burbank, California in 1939. The Earffel Tower isn't functional and doesn't contain any water. At night time the outline of the black ears changes colour.

Disney Studio 1

Disney Studio 1 is based on the first sound stage ever owned by Walt Disney himself at the original Disney Bros Studios in Burbank, California. On the inside it's filled with movie props and lined with shops and a restaurant. You may also spot some "Streetmosphere" actors and characters adding to the atmosphere of a real working film studio.

It's a theatre show mixing the live performance of an actor with synchronized movie scenes on a big screen. It lasts approximately 20 minutes. The doors open 10 minutes before each show. Show times are available in the Walt Disney Studios programme.

Stitch Live!

This attraction opened this year in March 2008 and consists of an unscripted, real time conversation between park guests and Stitch from Disney's film Lilo & Stitch. Stitch is controlled by a hidden cast member and can talk, interact, and take guests pictures. Shows last approximately 15 minutes and are offered in both French and English. Show times are available in the Walt Disney Studios programme.

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror fastpass

This attraction opened in April 2008 (although it was unofficially open since December 2007). It's themed to resemble the fictional Hollywood Tower Hotel, which was struck by lightening on October 31 1939 and mysteriously transported an elevator car full of passengers to the Twilight Zone. Guests are shown an explanation of events via a television set, before entering the elevator. It's a drop tower attraction. This attraction is themed around the Pixar film Cars, and is a similar ride to the Mad Hatter's Tea Cups in Fantasyland, Disneyland Park. Art of Disney Animation

Creating the illusion of motion is a dream that goes back to prehistoric man. Many pioneers have tried to make this dream come true and the pre-show film pays homage to these now forgotten forerunners. The pre-show area also displays various artifacts, such as the multi-plane camera developed by Walt Disney in the 1930s to add depth the animated images by allowing various parts of the same picture to be animated separately. The show itself is located in two separate rooms, the first showing highlights from various Disney classics, and the second is a demonstration of how animation is achieved with the assistance of Mushu from the Disney film Mulan. The demonstration is in French, but headphones are offered in other languages. Please be warned the that headphones are difficult to hear anything from. There are no set show times.
